A quick update for those employers who are preparing for the 2021 plan year and setting the employee contribution $ amount: The IRS published the 4980H(b) affordability percentage for 2021 at 9.83% (an increase from 9.78% in 2020). Remember, this contribution amount is effective for the first day of your 2021 plan year. Meaning, an employer with a 9.1 plan year would use this percentage effective 9.1.2021.
